K’NEKT NZ was created by a solo mama from the Far North of Aotearoa who simply wanted an easier way to shop genuine New Zealand-made products. Time and time again, after researching websites, checking “.co.nz” domains, and trying to support local, many products still turned out to be shipped from overseas or mass-produced counterfeit replicas of our people’s work.

At the same time, finding authentic Kiwi brands often meant searching through dozens of individual websites, social media pages, and market stalls just to discover what was available. There was no single trusted space bringing New Zealand brands, artists, creatives, and small businesses together in one place.

and I LOVE online shopping! A possible addiction?  I love how easy platforms like Temu and SHEIN are. They’re convenient, affordable and dangerously easy to scroll through 😂

But I also LOVE supporting our own more. 😍 I love finding Māori kākahu, kōwhaiwhai cups, tāniko earrings, beautiful NZ-made products, and all the incredible things being created by Kiwi businesses, artists and makers right here in Aotearoa.

What if supporting genuine New Zealand businesses was just as easy — and just as addictive 😂 — as opening the Temu app?

And that idea became K’NEKT NZ. 💛
