Here’s a quick guide to the different buttons, shopping options and product badges you’ll see across K’NEKT NZ.

HOW YOU SHOP ON K’NEKT

“K’NEKT & Go Link” lets you discover products from verified NZ vendors right here on K’NEKT.

We showcase the vendor’s products, but the purchase is made directly through them. Simply click “TAKE ME THERE →” and you’ll be taken straight to the vendor’s own website or online store to view and purchase the product.

Payment, shipping and fulfilment are handled directly by the vendor.

Buy on K’NEKT

Products marked “Buy on K’NEKT” are sold by K’NEKT NZ on behalf of our independent vendors.

Each vendor is responsible for storing, packing and shipping their own products directly to you.

Because products are fulfilled by individual vendors, shipping, delivery enquiries, returns, refunds and product-related disputes are handled in accordance with the relevant vendor’s policies.

K’NEKT NZ provides the platform that connects you with the vendor and can assist with communication where needed.

K’NEKT PRODUCT BADGES

These are badges that each product can carry and will be verified by K’NEKT NZ to the best of our ability.

The badges are designed to help shoppers quickly understand more about the product, the people behind it, where it comes from and how it is made.

A product may qualify for more than one badge.

Made in NZ

The product itself is made, manufactured, grown, produced or substantially transformed in New Zealand.

Māori Brand

The business or brand identifies as Māori-owned and/or Māori-led and is seeking recognition within K’NEKT NZ’s Māori Brand category and has gone through K’NEKT NZ’s verification process.

This does not apply simply because a business uses Māori-inspired names, imagery, language, designs or products.

Pasifika Brand

The business or brand identifies as Pasifika-owned and/or Pasifika-led here in New Zealand and is seeking recognition within K’NEKT NZ’s Pasifika Brand category and has gone through K’NEKT NZ’s verification process.

This does not apply simply because a business uses Pacific-inspired names, imagery, designs or products.

NZ Artist / Creative

Original artwork, designs or creative works are created by a New Zealand-based artist or creative.

The Supplier must own the work or have appropriate authority to sell or reproduce it.

Eco-Friendly

The product has a specific and supportable environmental benefit, such as reusable, recycled, low-waste, sustainably sourced, refillable, compostable or reduced-packaging features.

The Supplier must clearly identify and substantiate the specific environmental benefit being claimed in the product description.

Organic

The product, ingredient or material is represented as organic only where that claim can be appropriately substantiated.

The scope of the organic claim must be clear and must not imply that the whole product is certified organic where only part of it is.

Where a product is represented as “Certified Organic”, the Supplier must provide evidence of current certification from a recognised organic certification body.

One of a Kind

The individual item is genuinely unique and is not mass-produced or repeatedly reproduced as an identical finished product.

Minor variations in a mass-produced item do not automatically make it one of a kind.

Made to Order

The product is made or completed specifically after a customer places an order rather than being supplied solely as a pre-manufactured finished item held in stock.

NZ Designed

The original product concept, design or creative development was completed in New Zealand, even if some or all manufacturing occurs overseas.

NZ Designed must not be presented as Made in NZ unless the product separately meets that definition.

Handmade in NZ

The product is individually made, crafted, assembled or substantially hand-finished in New Zealand by the maker, artist, business or New Zealand-based production team.

Packaging, labelling or minor alteration of an imported finished product does not automatically qualify.
